Paint Shop with associated Amenity and Technical Spine, Maintenance Area and ASRS

The new development consists of the most advanced Paint Shop in Europe. The facility has a technical and amenity spine, Automated Storage and Retrieval System for the vehicle bodies. The facility is consists of steel structure and roof built on piled and pad foundations, with an in-situ cast concrete slab. The steel structure supports a single ply membrane roof and insulated façade panels. Within the steel structure there are in-situ and precast concrete structures.

PCM lead the project through the design, and construction stages through to final hand over to JLR manufacturing. The works had to be undertaken whilst working through winter temperatures of -22 degrees Celsius. The building was constructed by VCES before being handed to DURR to install the technology.

PCM was responsible for leading the value engineering initiatives, providing innovative solutions to challenging commercial problems during the progression of the build.
